General Position Summary

The Application Development Engineer is responsible for developing new applications and

business opportunities involving IKO’s complex and technological products and services.

This role requires extensive product knowledge, a deep understanding of applications, and

familiarity with the scientific principles that support IKO's solutions.


Essential Job Functions

The Application Development Engineer performs engineering service and sales functions

both independently and within a team. The role involves proactively identifying customer

challenges, researching solutions, collaborating on ideas, and developing new applications

to ensure satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop customer applications with technical and engineering support.

• Collaborate with customers and engineers to assess and determine technical

requirements.

• Assist customers in selecting appropriate products and specifications, supported

by technical data.

• Prepare and deliver technical presentations on IKO products and services.

• Support customers in solving product-related problems.

• Partner with sales teams to understand customer needs and provide support (if not

handling the account directly).

• Manage order placement and delivery logistics (for owned accounts).


• Plan and adjust products to align with customer requirements.

• Conduct research and development of new products and services.

• Perform other duties as required.

Note: Some travel and occasional overnight trips with the IKO Sales and Engineering teams

may be necessary.

• Computer Proficiency: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD

software.

• Certificates & Licenses: Must possess a valid driver’s license.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

• 3–5 years of engineering experience; sales experience is a plus.

Language

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Primarily office-based work environment with standard office equipment.

• May require standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.

• Occasional domestic travel is required.

• May involve working outside of regular business hours based on business needs.
