After an interesting experiment with law school, Bo is excited to return to world of optics. Born in Beijing China he has lived in a number of place in the United States before settling in Southern California in 2000. After attending El Dorado High School in Placentia, he went on to the University of Rochester where he majored in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Medical Optics from the world famous Institute of Optics, graduating in 2010. There he became interested in research based laser microscopy and spectroscopy. His interest in optics runs in the family; Bo’s grandfather Da Heng Wang, Founder of the Chinese Optical Society, was considered the father of modern optics in China, and his father, He Wang is an AMO physicist specializing in quantum optics.
Bo became the OSSC’s Outreach Chairman in October 2012, after contacting Donn Silberman seeking to volunteer.
